Return to School

Next week, we will be welcoming all students in Years Prep -6 back to school.  Over the period of remote learning, a lot has progressed with the building works and we have now taken occupancy of the Learning Centre. When students return next week, our Year Prep -2 students will be in the Learning Centre, Year 3/4 will be in the portables beside the hall and our Year 5/6 students remain in the BER. Due to all these changes and the need to assist students on their first day back to find their rooms, we have made the decision to stagger the return to school.

Students in Year Prep-2 will return on Monday 12th October.

Students in Year 3-6 will return on Wednesday 14th October.

As with Term 2, start and finish times for students will be staggered by surname to ensure parents and carers dropping off and picking up students are able to safely distance from each other. Please see the Return to School Family Guide on Compass for further details.

Building Works

As already noted, we are very excited to have now taken possession of the new Learning Centre and will be able to take classes in the new rooms. The new Preschool building will be handed over shortly and classes will commence in there on Monday 19th October.

If you haven’t been past the school recently, be prepared for a shock. There is a big open space where the old building was (except for the Preschool component)!

Stage 2 of the building program will commence on Monday 19th October and is due for completion in May next year.

Book Week

Dear Parents and friends,

As part of our Book Week Activities, we would like the students to come to school dressed as their favourite book character.

We understand that accessing costumes may be difficult for some families, but we are hoping that you are able to come up with some creative ideas. Due to the current restrictions, the students will not be parading throughout the school, but they will be participating in activities in their allocated grouping.

The dress-up date is 21st October 2020.

Thanks, Kellie
