Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we prepare for the 2027 school year, we would like to share information about the process for placing students into their new classrooms.
Our dedicated teachers know your child well and will use their professional judgement and knowledge of each student to ensure they are placed in an environment that supports their academic, social and emotional success.
When considering class placements, we take into account a range of factors, including academic needs, friendships, behaviour, wellbeing, gender balance, learning needs and the dynamics of each class. Our aim is to create balanced classes that provide the best possible learning environment for all students.
While we welcome information from parents that may assist us in the placement process, requests for specific teachers cannot be considered.
Parent requests will only be considered where they relate to a significant social or academic need that the school is not already aware of. If you believe you need to provide information for consideration, please email either Ken or Jayne:
You will also be required to meet with one of us to discuss the matter further.
Requests for 2027 class placements will close on Friday 28 August 2026. While we will consider relevant information provided, we cannot guarantee that a particular request or placement outcome will be possible.
Our priority is to ensure that every student at Bonbeach Primary School is placed in a class that best supports their learning, wellbeing, growth and development.
Students will also have the opportunity to identify friends they would like to be placed with. We encourage families to respect their child's choices and understand that positive social connections can play an important role in a student's sense of belonging and transition into a new class.
To support a smooth transition into the 2027 school year, we will conduct transition sessions from next term through to the end of the year. These sessions will provide opportunities for teachers to observe students in different groupings and gather further information to assist with the class placement process.
Students will have the opportunity to meet their new teacher and classmates for 2027 on a date to be confirmed in December.
We are looking forward to the 2027 school year and remain committed to creating supportive, balanced and enriching learning environments for every student.
Thank you for your ongoing support, trust and cooperation.
Warm regards,
Ken & Jayne
