Dear Parents and Caregivers,
We are writing to you today with both pride and concern.
Every day, We have the privilege of witnessing the extraordinary dedication of our school staff. Our teachers, support staff, administrative team, and site personnel work tirelessly—often well beyond the school day—to provide a high-quality academic and social environment for your children. They plan carefully structured lessons, support individual learning needs, supervise extracurricular opportunities, and nurture students’ wellbeing with genuine care and professionalism.
Our staff are conscientious, reflective practitioners. They continually review their practice, participate in professional learning, and collaborate with one another to ensure that students receive the very best education and support possible. Their commitment extends far beyond delivering curriculum; they are building character, resilience, curiosity, and community.
However, I must also address a growing concern. Recently, we have experienced a significant increase in negative and, at times, disrespectful communication directed toward members of staff. Whilst we welcome constructive feedback and open dialogue—indeed, these are vital to improvement—the tone and manner in which concerns are sometimes expressed can have a profound impact.
The continual negativity has been deeply disheartening. I have seen firsthand the emotional toll it takes on staff who are already giving their all to support students. It is, quite simply, soul-destroying for hardworking professionals to feel undervalued or attacked when their intentions and efforts are grounded in care for children.
We are a community, and our children benefit most when the adults around them model respect, collaboration, and kindness. When concerns arise, I encourage parents to approach us with the assumption of positive intent and a willingness to work together toward solutions. We are always open to conversations that are constructive, respectful, and focussed on what is best for students.
I respectfully ask for your support in reinforcing a culture of mutual respect. Let us continue to hold high expectations—for our students and for ourselves—while ensuring that our interactions reflect the values we seek to instill in our young people.
Thank you to the many families who already show appreciation and partnership in countless ways. Your encouragement makes an enormous difference.
Together, we can ensure that our school remains a place where students thrive and staff feel valued, supported, and proud of the work they do.
regards
Ken and Jayne
