Performing Arts Term

It’s an exciting time in Preforming Arts for all the Prep and year 1/2 classes as they are preparing for the end of semester concert. This will be held on the last Wednesday of this term, i.e. July 2nd from 2.40pm – 3.30pm so write it in your diaries, calendars or in mobile phones. Your children have no doubt been talking to about it. The P-2 students will be able to come to school in their class colours to minimise the time getting changed.

Here is what each class will be wearing to school on the day of the concert:

PJT- yellow t-shirts and black shorts.

PKM – red t-shirts and black shorts.

PFR- white t-shirt and black shorts.

JBF- white t-shirt and black shorts.

JCS- checked buttoned up shirt and long blue jeans.

JCT- blue t-shirt and long blue jeans.

JRM- red, green or yellow t-shirts and black shorts.

JKM- white t-shirt and black shorts

It’s preferable that the t-shirts are plain, however, it doesn’t matter if they have a picture or writing on them as we will turn them inside out or wear them back to front, so we don’t see the pictures. If you have any spare t-shirts or shorts in any of the above colours, please send them to school asap with your child to minimise costs for parents. These t-shirts, checked shirts, jeans, black shorts will be returned to your child the day after the concert. If you have any swimming goggles, skateboard protection gear (i.e. elbow pads, knee pads) gloves, and bike helmet please send them along as well.

PLEASE MAKE SURE EVERTHING HAS YOU CHILD’S NAME AND GRADE ON IT SO IT CAN BE RETURNED TO THE RIGHT STUDENT AFTER THE CONCERT.

AUTUMN LEAVES WANTED!

We're building our new community garden beds—and we need your help!

Fallen autumn leaves make fantastic compost and are perfect for filling the bottom of our new garden beds. If you have leaves to spare:

  • Fill your green wheelie bin and wheel it over, or
  • Bag them up and drop them in the school garden area.

We’re also accepting excess cardboard (with tape removed)—TV boxes, shipping boxes, or whatever you have at home. If we can 1/4 fill the garden beds with leaves and cardboard, we’ll reduce the amount of compost we need to purchase. Thanks to the Tuck Shop, which is generously donating $500 worth of compost—this will go a long way!

Calling all helpers!
We’re looking for volunteers to help assemble flat-pack garden beds. If you have some time and would like to lend a hand, we’d love your support with this exciting project!

Let’s grow something great together!
Thank you for supporting this worthwhile school project.

ICAS

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Within our school community there are students who shine brightly, displaying exemplary dedication and academic talent. They deserve to be recognised and this year we are again giving them the opportunity to showcase and celebrate their talents in the world-renowned ICAS competition.

What is ICAS?

ICAS is an online academic competition that gives students the opportunity to challenge their higher order thinking and problem-solving skills in English, Mathematics, Science, Writing, Spelling Bee, and Digital Technologies.

ICAS results are in-depth and meaningful, and ICAS evaluates student performance against other competition entrants across the state and nation. The data reveals student strengths and weaknesses and can help you recognise and support your child's academic journey.

Learn more about ICAS here: (icasassessments.com/products-icas/).

ICAS results and certificate
Every student who participates is celebrated and recognised with a printed certificate in each subject area, and an online results report to track development each year. Top performers are eligible for one of the highly coveted ICAS medals.
