End of Term 1
It’s hard to believe that we’re about to finish Term 1 tomorrow, Friday 4th April 2025.
A gentle reminder that school will finish at 2:30pm and there will be NO assembly in the afternoon.
We wish everyone a safe and happy holiday and look forward to seeing everyone back on Tuesday 22nd April.
We love celebrating the achievements of our students in events outside the school.
On Friday 21st March 5 boys - Liam and Jack Day, Reuben and Eli Bell and Hugo Wood - represented BPS at the Vic Interschool Mtb cross-country competition at Falls Creek. The boys did us proud, representing the school as well as their families, and having a go racing up and down hills much steeper than anything in Bonbeach !
There were no podium finishes, but they really enjoyed it and we’re so proud of their efforts.

Reuben Bell also competed in Little Athletics and had a very strong day a couple of weeks ago, getting through quite a few heats and then finishing 1st to take out this years Senior Chelsea Gift.
What a fantastic effort when you consider it’s his first year competing!

Nature isn’t just beautiful—it’s also good for you. It can lower stress, boost creativity, and improve your mood. So, the next time you're feeling tired or overwhelmed, step outside, breathe in the fresh air, and let nature work its magic.
What a wonderful first term we have had in the school garden! All students have been rolling up their sleeves and getting their hands (and possibly clothes) dirty, making sure everything is growing strong and healthy, but best of all tasting everything that is growing!
We have welcomed 3 new baby chickens which are an Easter Egger breed, meaning they will lay blue and green eggs! These new chicks are getting used to cuddles and their new home. We are excited to finally draw the Chick Naming Competition at the Easter Parade tomorrow.
Lunchtime Garden Club is a buzz, with buddies bringing in the preps, and showing them all the nature fun to be had! It's wonderful to see our school community connecting with the garden, learning from each other, and exploring the great outdoors together.
The students are currently in the process of creating a wonderful community garden for the families to be able grow their own food at school, with guidance. While it's a work in progress, we have had some amazing donations of 3 new wheelbarrows, 5 free standing garden beds, gloves, shovels and more! The students are so happy with the new gloves!
Funds from the Farmers Market have been used to purchase 12 new garden beds to contribute to this project, and if flat packs are your thing, we would love some help assembling them!
More information to follow in Term 2, on how to be a part of the community garden, but essentially 17 lucky families will be able to rent these new garden spaces for a small fee. Some seeds and seedlings will be included too!
We are in the process of getting soil, mulch and hopefully a mulcher donated to the project, if you have any contacts, please contact Amy.
Finally, thank you to everyone who has purchased fruit and veg from the garden, this enables us to purchase chicken feed.
Your support is what will make this garden truly special!
Let’s keep growing together and watch our garden bloom!

School Garden Lessons
What excitement in the kitchen with Grade 3/4 students! From chopping and mixing to tasting and teamwork.
Kitchen confidence - knives, scissors and graters, measuring, mixing like pros, and willingness to wash up!
Healthy food = delicious food - yes, they actually ate their veggies!
The joy of cooking - because food tastes better when you make it yourself and eat it with friends.
It was messy, it was busy, and it was absolutely worth it.
The delicious menu consisted of Tomato and Pomegranate Salad, Veg Spring Rolls and the all time favourite, Pumpkin Drop biscuits!
To all the mums, who helped wash, chop, dice, measure, mix, pour, and bake, THANK YOU! Cooking sessions would not have been a huge success without you all. Our school community shone through & I hope you too are as proud as we are for the efforts that were made in the kitchen.
We can’t wait to do it all again today with Grade 5/6!
