Term 1, 2025

This year, the Prep-2 students will be doing Performing Arts for the first semester (i.e. in Terms 1 and 2), and Digital Technologies in the second semester (i.e. in Terms 3 and 4). The students in years 3-6 will do Performing Arts in the second semester, as they are doing Digital Technologies now and next term. The 3 strands of Performing Arts, i.e. Music, Dance and Drama will be taught over 2 terms for all students, so they will experience approximately 6 weeks of each strand.

The Prep students have been introduced, and year 1/2 students reminded of the routines and behavioural expectations by reinforcing the school values of I am Safe, I am Kind, I am a Learner, and their application to Performing Arts.

This term we have started with getting to know each other through songs such as ‘Bee Bee Bumble Bee, Can You Sing Your name to Me’ and ‘New Friends’. The students have explored sounds produced by their voice, body percussion, and a playing a variety of musical instruments through action songs, games, dancing and movement. They have experimented with the different qualities of the sounds they make, such as Long/Short, Loud/Soft, and High/Low, and are learning about the musical elements of beat and rhythm. 

The Bonbeach Tuck Shop is providing lunch orders at school on Fridays.

There will be 2 deliveries; one at 12:20pm for the Preps - grade 2 and the other one will be at 1:20pm for grade 3 - grade 6.
