Sonny, Liam and Isla have been picked to represent FDBA Frankston Basketball Representative Under 10s- The Bonbeach Community would like to send a huge congratulations to these three students in JKM.

Here is a run down of the trials from Sonny, Liam and Isla:

Sonny: The try outs began with 50 boys and the squad now has 27 boys. There were lots of hard drills that you had to complete. Each try out went for an hour and a half. Every tryout got harder and harder with the drills. The other boys were very hard to compete with. I can’t wait to find out what team I am in.

Liam: There were 7 tryouts altogether which is a massive amount. I was scared at the start but once I did the first tryout I felt a lot more confident. The coaches names were Daniel, Scott and another coach that was strict with long curly hair. The coaches were very helpful and gave lots of constructive feedback. I can’t wait to start the games and training.

Isla: The girls had 3 tryouts so we were lucky not having to do 7 like the boys. There were 60 girls to begin with and they ended up with a group of 32. Each tryout you got a black number on your leg. I felt scared at the first tryout but I got more confident as the weeks went on. The coaches were David, Al, Nat  and Sarah. They were helpful and made me feel confident. David was very strict because if we got a drill wrong we had to start over again. I think he is going to make us better. I can't wait for the matches to begin.
