Carpark Gates
Thank you to the parents who read last week’s newsletter and are not using the car park and/or the gates there to drop their children off or pick them up.
As previously stated, these gates will be locked between 8:45am and 3:45pm each day.
I have observed students and some parents climbing the railing outside the Art Room and jumping over to the other side.
Whilst I admire the ingenuity and athleticism, that practice is not permitted.
These measures are only in place to keep our students (and parents!) safe.
Please, set a good example to your children and do the right thing!

The Matildas
regards
Ken & Jayne

Dear parents and guardians,
With book week approaching us, we are looking forward to celebrating and continuing to grow a love for reading. Book week will be celebrated in week 7 (21st of August - 25th of August). The parade will be held on Monday morning of Week 7 (Monday 21st of August) at 9:15am. We are hoping to hold the parade on the basketball and netball courts, depending on weather. Students will also be exploring book week activities during Visual Art that week.
We are looking forward to seeing your favourite books character come to life!

August Farmer’s Market
It was a chilly damp winter start to this month’s Farmer’s Market but eventually the sun enticed everyone out and the August Farmer’s Market was as busy as ever with 1211 adults coming through the gates and 74 stall holders. Thank you to all the families who came along to support the school and various stall holders.
The August Market was organised by Grade 1/2s and these students will benefit from your hard work with $1000 from the funds raised going directly to Grade 1/2 for educational purposes. We are very grateful to all the wonderful volunteers who help to make the day a success attending set up, gate, pack up and BBQ shifts . Thank you to Jon C, Neil E, Matt M, Glen J, Kate A, Megan K, Tina R, Aideen G, Kelly O, Mayumi W, Fiona B, Catherine S, Dave G, Vadym S, Shane Carter, Bryan M, Brett M, Ramsey, W and Karoline T for your support on the day.
The next market will be held on Sunday 10th September. The Grade 5/6 team will be organising volunteers for this market. If you are available to assist with set up, pack up or on gate collection, please keep an eye at on Compass for the Google Volunteer Form which will be published prior to the market. Your assistance is very much appreciated.
While the proceeds of Bonbeach Farmers Market support various projects within the school community, the stallholders themselves are very supportive of our school programs directly.
We would like to thank the following stalls in particular:
Shadow Cat Facepainting - $25
Easy Peasy Garden Tools - Broom $45
Fergy's Bread – Monthly donations of fresh bread
to make toasties for students

280 Fresh Veg and That Juice Bar - Monthly donations
of food scraps for chickens/composting
Mr Ed Coffee Bar - Monthly donation of coffee grounds for composting
