Dealing with Anxiety
Anxiety can look and feel different for everyone – overthinking, worry, upset tummy, headaches and shortness of breath are some things we may experience. These feelings can be exacerbated by certain situations, events and the environment around us. Like all of us, children need support to be able to process these big feelings and sometimes allowing them space may give them the opportunity to talk or just simply acknowledge how they feel.
Here are some links you may find useful to support children through times of change that may cause some anxiety and concern for them. There are some positive tips to assist children to understand that feeling anxious sometimes, is normal and ways they can deal with these emotions. These links may be helpful with children returning to school after the upcoming holiday break but they can certainly be applied to any situation.

How to live like a king this King's Birthday weekend? Local Food!
Come along and celebrate local food & community at the Bonbeach Farmer’s Market this Sunday June 11th. Research indicates people thrive and are naturally happier when socially connected. Farmers markets support emotional health by creating a cheerful vibrant space where people come together for laughter, friendship, food and fun.
From savouring produce at the peak of its freshness to meeting the people who grow and make your food, there are countless reasons to support farmers markets.
As we work to transform the local food system, our goal is to ensure our market works the best it can for growers and makers, as well as the families they support. At the end of the day, we want to continue making more nutritious, local food available to the community.
We've added in some lovely craft stalls, plus over 70 stalls, there is something for everyone, with lots of brand new stalls too.
Bring a picnic rug, enjoy some tunes from this month’s musician and soak up the atmosphere with family and friends. Have a wander through the school garden and then watch the kids play on the playground.
Support the school's Energy Breakthrough Team by purchasing and egg and bacon roll for brunch too. Check the stallholder list out this Friday!
KIDS: CURBSIDE COACHING will be running a mini skate workshop, so kids, bring those skateboards with you.
PROPERTY ONE Real Estate will have some King's Birthday Craft to keep you entertained!
MUSIC - Kaiyah Mercedes is BACK!
Turn up. Tune in. Shop out.
TIME: 8.30am - 12.30pm
ENTRY: $2 gold coin per adult (children are free)
We look forward to seeing everyone on Sunday!

Hello everyone! My name is Emily Roberts and I have been working at Bonbeach as the Inclusion Specialist since the start of this term. I love my job because I get to help students learn the best they can and helping teachers to support their students. Before I started at Bonbeach I worked in Cranbourne West at Barton PS, when it opened in 2017 I was one of the first teachers to teach there. I had taught prep, grade 2, STEM and intervention. I have been teaching since 2011 and have worked at other schools in Berwick and locally in the City of Kingston.
In my spare time I like to make and decorate cakes, watch the football (Western Bulldogs fan) and hang out with my family. At home I live with my 2.5yo twin boys, Hayden and Charlie, my husband Brad and our chocolate Labrador Toby.
My favourite food is chicken schnitzels or chocolate, and my favourite movies are The Witches (the original) and The Wizard of Oz. I love watching AFL and in summer will watch cricket and tennis. Going to an AFL Grand Final is on my wish list of things I’d love to do one day!
My favourite holiday destination is Bali, I have been there many times and got married there in 2014. I would love to take Hayden and Charlie there one day, hopefully very soon. We are going to Noosa later this year and are going to visit the Australian Zoo. Some places I would love to visit would be Europe, Canada and Tokyo, especially to go to Disney.
If you see me don’t forget to say hi, I can’t wait to meet you all!
