Planned absences
A reminder to parents that if you know in advance that your child will be absent from school, to please inform the school in advance via phone, face to face conversation or in writing. If your child is going to be absent for 5 or more days (and they are not unwell), the school is required to develop an Absence Learning Plan for your child to complete during the time they are away from school. Developing an Absence Learning Plan takes time for the class teacher to complete, therefore, the school requires at least three days prior notice of absences of five days or longer so this can be prepared.
Please refer to the Bonbeach Primary Student Absence process flow chart in this newsletter.
Students should be attending school every day unless they are unwell. When students are absent from school, this impacts on opportunities to grow socially and interact with their peers and interrupts the curriculum learning sequences planned in the classroom.
2023 planning
As mentioned in last week’s newsletter, if you have a sound academic or social reason to make a request that you would like to be considered when we are planning our 2023 grades, please provide this request in writing to the school before Friday 28th October.
Late requests will not be considered.
