End of Term 3
We have come to the end of another busy term. Some of our Term 3 highlights include the fantastic Junior School Production of ‘The Best Beak in Boonoroo Bay’, the Life Education Program, Prep and Year 3/4 swimming, Years 3-6 House Athletics Day, our preps celebrating 100 days of school, whole school Book Week and parade as well as several incursions and excursions across the year levels. Let’s not also forget all of the hard work from our students and the learning they have achieved.
We will be finishing up the term by celebrating Footy Colours Day. Students are encouraged to come to school dressed in their favourite footy teams’ colours, this also includes other football codes such as soccer and rugby. There will be a parade at approximately 9:10am on the netball court (weather permitting) or in the hall should it be raining, followed by footy rotational activities for the students. Students are encouraged to bring some coins with them to school to see which team can create the longest coin line. All coins will be donated to the Fight Cancer Foundation.
We will also be holding an end of term assembly at 2:10pm tomorrow followed by dismissal at 2:30pm.
We thank all families for your support this term and wish you all a safe and relaxing break, and look forward to seeing all students back for the start of Term 4 on Monday 3rd October.
Staffing Update
This week, we welcomed Mr Jasiewicz back after six weeks of leave following the birth of his gorgeous baby girl Kora. The Year 3/4 team and MBJ were very excited to have him back this week.
Mr Sandy will be taking parental leave for the first four weeks of Term 4. We wish him all the best for the safe delivery of his and his partners baby during the holidays. Mrs Karen Scerri will take MSM on Mondays and Wednesdays for the first four weeks of term and Mrs Mullavey will work an extra day in the grade on Tuesdays until Mr Sandy returns in Week 5.
This week is Mrs Stevenson’s final week before starting maternity leave. We would like to thank Mrs Stevenson for all of her hard work and dedication this year to the Prep team and to her class. For Term 4, we are fortunate to have two very experienced teachers who are currently already working in the school to take PKS. Mrs Stacey Clark will work on Mondays and Tuesday and Mrs Tisseverasinghe will work Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
Farmers’ Market
It was fantastic to see so many families at our Farmers’ Market last Sunday. It was a busy day with 1,110 adults through the gates. Thank you to our prep families for volunteering to support the market. $500 from the day will be going directly to the prep team to purchase items for the year level. Our Year 5/6 Students competing in the RACV Energy Breakthrough later in the year, and their families, ran the egg and bacon BBQ to raise funds to support this extra-curricular activity.
