A Message from Ken and Lisa

Official School Opening

We have been informed today that the official school opening for our new Learning and Centre and Administration/STEM buildings will be held next Wednesday 15th June. While we have been in our buildings for a little while now, we haven’t had the opportunity to officially open them due to Covid restrictions. Our local members of parliament Sonja Kilkenny and Tim Richardson will be in attendance to officially open these new buildings at a whole school assembly at 10:15am in the hall on this morning. Parents and members of the community are welcome to attend.

Minor works

From Monday 20th June, we will be having some minor works occurring in the school grounds. The asphalt in the garden will be resurfaced, new handrails will be fitted leading into the LOTE room and the ramp at the front of the hall will be removed and a new ramp installed. These areas will be fenced off during the time of the works. Most of the demolition will occur over the school holidays and we estimate that the project will take approximately 2-3 months. This will not interrupt our teaching and learning program or impact on access to areas and buildings in the school.

Queen’s Birthday Public Holiday

A reminder that Monday 13th June is a public holiday. The school will be closed on this day.

Regards,

Ken and Lisa

Bonbeach Farmers’ Market

Sunday 12th June

8:30am – 12:30pm

We are in for a chilly weekend so rug up and pop down to grab everything you need to make a hearty winter veggie soup, stock up on some great fresh produce, tasty treats and grab a hot drink or snack. Our famous egg and bacon rolls are back with this market supporting the Bonbeach Pre-school.

Chelsea Police will be joining us at this weeks market,  so grab your coffee and come for a chat. We encourage you to bring your bicycles, they will engrave them with your drivers licence number (so bring your licence along as well). They will also be handing out one way registration plate screws for your cars.

Covered in 'The Age' this week - "Price rises on groceries will continue eating into household budgets for the rest of the year, with the war in Ukrane, fuel costs, labour shortages and weather disasters inflicting "unprecedented" havoc on food supply chains. Truss, gourmet and cherry tomatoes, cos and iceberg lettuce, beans, broccolini, strawberries, raspberries, milk, beef and other pantry staples also rising."

Farmers markets are a great connection between our food production system and our health! We work hard to provide you with direct access to fresh local and seasonal food sourced directly from 'the producer'.

Please remember to bring a $2 gold coin for entry as we do not have card facilities on the gates.
All money raised on the gates is used
to purchase additional resources and equipment for use in the school. There is no better time to take advantage of the Bonbeach Farmers' Market.

See you all this Sunday!

The next meeting of the Farmers’ Market Committee will be held at 5:00pm Tuesday 14th June in the school Admin building.

We would love to see some new faces there!
