A Message from Ken and Lisa

Colourthon

Tomorrow, the P&F will be holding their major fundraising event for the year, the Colour Explosion Colourthon. Many students have been collecting sponsors in the lead up to this event. We ask that all donations be logged online to your child’s online profile or cash donations be handed into the office by tomorrow, Friday 18th March.

All students will participate in the Colouthon tomorrow afternoon at approximately 2:45pm on the school oval. Following the event, students will be provided with a Zooper Duper icy pole and will then be dismissed from their classrooms. All students must have a white t-shirt to wear for the event. This can be sent to school in their school bags tomorrow. Time will be provided to students during the day, to change into their white t-shirt. Sunglasses for every student will be provided to protect their eyes and hats will need to be worn if the UV is above 3.

Parents are welcome to come along to watch the event. It is a Department requirement that all visitors for events are fully vaccinated. We ask parents and visitors to please report to the school office on arrival before heading outside for the event.

Thank you to the P&F and in particular, Jody SC for organising this event for the school. We are all looking forward to a fun afternoon.

Harmony Day

BPS Harmony Day Celebration

 Tuesday 22nd March

Harmony Week is a time to celebrate Australian multiculturalism, and the successful integration of migrants into our community. Australia is one of the most multicultural countries in the world and as a country, we believe we should celebrate this and work to maintain it. The message of Harmony Week is “EVERYONE BELONGS”. It is about inclusiveness, respect and belonging for all Australians, regardless of cultural or linguistic background, united by a set of core Australian values.

Students at Bonbeach Primary will celebrate harmony on Tuesday 22nd March. They are encouraged to wear something orange or dress in their family’s national dress.  Students are asked to contribute a gold coin to raise much needed funds for State School’s Relief which ensures every Victorian student, regardless of background is able to fully participate in education. The students will also be participating in a classroom activity and whole school picnic on the oval. Students are reminded to wear suitable clothing as per a normal day of school.

Thanks for helping in celebrating our message that EVERYONE BELONGS.
