A Message from Ken and Lisa

End of Term

It’s hard to believe that tomorrow, Friday 17th September, is the last day of term and school will dismiss at 2:30pm. I am sure that everyone will agree that this has been a difficult term and everyone is looking forward to a break, even if we can’t go anywhere.

We are very fortunate to have parents that value education so highly and have assisted their children so much with the remote learning tasks.

We would like to again thank parents, students and staff for all their efforts this term and we look forward to returning  to normal schooling as soon as it is safe to do so.

If you are able to, please take the opportunity to have a break, enjoy the weather and some quality family time together.

Stay safe and enjoy the holiday!

Farmers’ Market

We would like to thank the Patterson River Golf Club for allowing us to hold the September Farmers’ Market in their car park. This allowed us to go ahead with our regular market in a Covid Safe manner and meet both Government and Department of Education restrictions. It was a successful market with many shoppers coming out to purchase essential items. Thank you to our community for following the current restrictions to ensure the market was conducted in a Covid Safe way.

Our market wouldn’t have been able to go ahead without the support of our committee members on the day. Thank you to Anita P, Jon C, Amy D, Jade K, Paul K, Jody SC, Brett S for your support on the day.

We will confirm the location of our October market through Compass and the Farmers’ Market social media closer to the time once we know what restrictions are in place.

Thank you

A big thank you to the Day family who have been maintaining our garden bed along Breeze Street. It is looking fantastic!

Rebound Wall

We are so fortunate to have so many talented and hard working parents, staff and students at Bonbeach. Another big thank you to Kirsty Oliver and her group of student assistants who have repainted the rebound wall. Check it out when you are able to. The sides look fabulous.

Regards

Aerobics News

                       National Finalists!

We just wanted to put the spotlight on these superstars for a moment who are school aerobics national finalists!!

These 6 girls have demonstrated courage, determination, persistence, and most of all resilience over the past 3 years of their school aerobics journey. With the lockdown restrictions in Victoria last year, they were unable to compete at all, despite practising their routine since October 2019!

This year, they carried on, getting back up again and deciding to compete in the 2021 competition. They competed in May at the regional competition and made it through to states, things were looking up! The state competition was then postponed due to lockdown 4.0, yet these girls kept on going. They practised when we got back to school ready for the state finals in Geelong ( even though it was during their school holidays)! This is where they performed their best yet and made it into the National finals!

This was meant to be in sunny Queensland in August, but due to the current lockdown, we were unable to make the journey up. Instead, we submitted the video of their routine from Geelong for the finals. The girls still kept the school aerobics spirits up by watching the live stream of the competition last week.

We would just like to say how proud we are of this group of girls, and how much we have enjoyed working with them over the past few years and watching them grow both as individuals and athletes.

You have represented our whole Bonbeach community tremendously.
